ICOC Campus Committee Public Statement
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Thank you for attending ICMC 2026. We pray you made it home safely after a full and enriching weekend together. We saw God work in so many unique and powerful ways in our weekend together.
As the Campus Committee, we want to address the comments made by Ed Anton during the Global Missions session on Saturday evening. While we briefly discussed this on Sunday, we felt it was important to communicate with each of you more clearly and directly.
The comments about Muslims and Hindus made on Saturday evening were disrespectful and hurtful. We believe every person is made in the image of God and should be treated and spoken about with dignity and respect. The language used to describe Hindus and Muslims in Ed’s Lesson did not reflect the character of Christ or the values we seek to uphold as a fellowship. Name-calling and disparaging language toward people of other faiths is not consistent with the love, respect, and gentleness Scripture calls us to show all people as we hold out the gospel (1 Peter 3:15-16).
We sincerely apologize to you, the attendees, to your families, and to our fellowship for the harm, confusion, and distress caused by what should have been an inspiring and unifying moment. We have shared our concerns with Ed Anton, and he has expressed remorse for his careless words.
We are committed to the ICMC remaining a time of edification and building up of the kingdom at large. We look forward to our times together in the coming years
